Growing up Philosophy

There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humour every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.

We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.

If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.

Anybody! Can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.

The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets...’

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.

We make a Living by what we get.
We make a Life by what we give.

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If
God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Spotlight on the Honorary Rector General

Andrew Jude Rajanathan is a graduate from the London School of Economics. He was recently selected as one of the top 25 most entrepreneurial graduates in the U.K for the New Entrepreneurs Foundation - a new programme designed to nurture Britain’s future entrepreneurs. As part of the programme he is placed at Liv-ex: The Fine Wine Exchange. Prior to this experience his first real job from University was at Groupon - the fastest growing company in the world. During his University years he spent much of his time outside of the classroom in the newsrooms of the BBC & The Financial Times. He published several articles featured online and in print for both organizations and even commentated on the England World Cup 2010 games for the BBC Asian Network.

During University, Andrew received leadership training from both the three faiths forum and the Young Foundation via the ParliaMentors and UpRising Leadership programmes. Both programmes opened doors to the worlds of politics and business. His involvement in both these organizations opened doors to impor tant institutions in the media, government, business and the third sector. He understands that for society to work properly all these areas must be recognised and encourage the best minds to work on the hardest problems facing all aspects of the community.

He is pleased to represent organizations such as the CEA and consider it an honour to be appointed the Honorary Rector General. The world in the past 20 years witnessed unprecedented levels of opportunity and growth before the market crash in 2008. Unfortunately, in that time period the value of work experi ence and real skills hasn’t been emphasized. The CEA aims to offer a unique blend of Professional Member ship and Qualifications to those who may not have the academic pedigree but have demonstrably achieved many things through their work experience or via practical skills in the real world. Like our University graduates today, members and alumni of the CEA must also be celebrated and the value of work experience and real skills must be emphasized to our young people if they want to thrive in Today’s global economy.

The CEA has taken a big step forward in garnering global recognition by aligning with the Business Management Association of the UK. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement, which will mean the promotion of both bodies and candidates being able to obtain memberships from both institutions to further accredit themselves.

The Business Management Association is an independent association truly representative of small businesses, operating on an international basis.

The Business Management Association has been established as an authorative body to promote the aims of the small business sector and formed by various companies, educational establishments and committed business entrepreneurs all actively involved in the practice of, or education of, small business owners and managers.

The Business Management Association exists to offer an umbrella support service to its members and in addition will enable the member or company to enjoy the enhanced status expected from membership of a professional association.

The Association firmly believes that the future performance of the small business sector is a vital element in the commercial health and vitality of the world economy. Furthermore, it is realised that many small businesses feel isolated, and they need support, encouragement, advice, a reference source and an “ear” that will listen. The Association can fill all these needs whilst maintaining a member’s independence and innovation.

The Association is structured to provide the intimacy and relationship one would expect from a professional association whilst providing a range of practical services to assist in improving business efficiency

Via the awarding of designatory letters together with diplomas in relevant business subjects, The Business Management Association also offers you the chance to update and upgrade your business skills, a vitally important resource in today’s world of business.

This collaboration spells good and solid future for the CEA and there are many other exciting times on the horizon.

Chairman of Trustees appointed by the Camelot Group

Recently, our Honorary Chairman of Trustees has taken up a position with the Camelot Group. Camelot is one of the largest lottery operators in the world. Having presence in the UK, Mainland Europe and North America and with an annual turnover of close to 6Billion Pounds, this certainly is a company that will provide a bright future.

As well as being the largest operator of lotteries, Camelot is also one of the largest charitable orgnisa tions in the UK having donated many billions of pounds and also put up 2.2Billion Pounds to stag ing the London 2012 Olympics.

This certainly is a fantastic opportunity, and a great way of spreading the news about the CEA, as ul timately both organisations share the same goals and that is to help as many people as possible. This will no doubt add strength to the cause of The CEA and we look forward to what opportunities can arise as a result of this appointment.
